A Loved One Passed Away

We’re sorry for your loss.

If a family member has passed away and you’re handling next steps, we understand this can feel overwhelming — especially while you’re grieving.

Our firm assists families with uncontested Louisiana successions and related estate administration matters.

When to Contact Us

You should reach out if:

  • A Louisiana resident has passed away

  • A Louisiana will or trust is involved

  • You are the surviving spouse, child, or named executor

  • You need guidance on what happens next

If you believe there may be a dispute or litigation, please let us know — we focus on uncontested matters and want to ensure you’re directed appropriately.

Our Succession Process

Step 1: Initial Questionnaire
You’ll complete a short form with basic information, including:

  • Date of death

  • Parish

  • Whether a will exists

  • Your role (spouse, child, executor, etc.)

Step 2: Intake Review
Our intake team reviews the information to determine whether we can assist.

Step 3: Zoom Meeting
If appropriate, you’ll meet by Zoom with the attorney to discuss next steps.

Step 4: Signing Appointment
Required documents are signed in person by appointment:

  • Baton Rouge — weekly

  • New Orleans — weekly

A Note on Timing

Many families wait weeks or months before starting a succession. That’s normal.
When you’re ready, we’ll help guide you through the process.
